Cricut Joy

Cricut Joy is probably the smallest craft plotter available on the market. Despite its small size, it can take your handicrafts to an even higher level! This device has the ability to cut over 50 different materials. However, when placed in the plotter holder, the marker can be used to sketch any patterns.

Cricut Joy plotter capabilities

Despite its small size, the plotter offers enormous possibilities. The device can cut over 50 different materials. He is excellent at cutting paper, making him an indispensable helper in every scrapbooking studio. The second option of the plotter is to sketch any patterns on paper using markers. Using both functions at the same time is very intuitive. Just select in the device program which shapes you want to cut and which to sketch. As you work, Cricut Joy will sketch patterns and then ask you to place the blade in the blade holder to cut out the designed shapes. You'll see all your notifications in the easy-to-use Cricut Design Space app or Cricut Joy app. This way you can create labels, pendants or cards of the selected shape or size.

Cutting without a mat

Cricut Joy is the first Cricut plotter with the ability to cut materials without a mat. This function applies to "Smart materials", i.e. those that have a backing. These include self-adhesive foils (vinyl, oracal), foils for creating iron-on transfers (flex, flock), and label paper.

Maximum project size for these materials:
– Single shape: 11.4 cm x 120 cm
– Duplicate shapes: 11.4 cm x 600 cm

Thanks to this, you can create stickers for walls, mugs, balloons and iron-on transfers for T-shirts, bags or pillows. The plotter is also great for personalizing small items such as hats, ties, and toys.

Software

To operate the plotter, you will need a computer, tablet or phone.The Cricut Design Space application in English is available for this purpose.This is a simple program that will guide you through your first cut.It also has the ability to import SVG files, so you can design patterns for cutting in your favorite vector graphics program, such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape (free, Polish language version), and then cut them on a plotter.
You can also operate this plotter model using the Cricut Joy app for mobile devices.
