Brother ScanNCut SDX1250 is a model from the new Brother SDX series of plotters, which replaced the well-known SDX1200 on the market. The plotter has more built-in patterns (1303), fonts (17), and internal memory than the basic model. In addition to SVG and FMC files, it also reads patterns saved in PES and PHC formats. This makes it much easier to perform embroidery applications on Brother embroidery machines thanks to the stitch path reading function. Both devices allow you to import patterns via USB or WI-FI.
Brother SDX1250 plotter capabilities
The Brother SDX2250D plotter is an ideal device for hobby work and activities with children. Thanks to a wide range of possibilities and simple operation, it is perfect for schools, educational studios and kindergartens. Get to know all the possibilities of the plotter and see how it can make your work easier.
Automatic blade setting
The main difference between the new models and the previous CM series is the elimination of the need to manually set the extension length and knife pressure force. Brother SDX1000, SDX1200 and SDX1250 will do it for you. Thus, the function that caused the most problems in configuration for users of older plotters was automated.
The introduction of new solutions also allowed the maximum thickness of cut materials to be increased by 50%. The plotter is great at cutting even thick, 3-millimeter felts used in embroidery applications.
Built-in scanner
The scanner in this model has a resolution of 600 dpi, which significantly improves the precision of scanning small elements and details. Thanks to this, the device can cut hand-drawn patterns after they are scanned by the plotter. The scanner also makes it easier to position the project on the mat, especially with small pieces of material.
Cutting in many materials:
self-adhesive foils;
good quality paper (scraps, vignettes, invitations, inscriptions);
flex and flock foils (iron-on transfers);
stencil foils
foamiran, creative foams;
fabrics and knitwear;
magnetic foils;
felt; leather.
Simple foil cutting
The plotter has a half-cut function that allows you to cut only the upper layer of the foil, which is a great solution when working with self-adhesive foils or flex and flock foils for fabrics. The device can cut stiff backing materials up to 178 cm directly from the roll, without using a mat; in the case of soft foils, it is recommended to cut them on a plotter mat (option available only with a foil dispenser sold separately).
The Brother ScanNCut SDX1250 cutting plotter is an innovative device with many different applications. It is ideal for scrapbooking, i.e. cutting out artistic patterns from cardboard, useful for creating e.g. greeting cards. Using this machine, you can easily cut any pattern from flex or flock foil and personalize your clothing. Scan'n Cut is not only suitable for home use, it is also suitable for larger, commercial projects. This amazing tool is not only used for cutting cardboard, paper or foil. It can easily handle even more difficult materials such as felt or natural leather, so you can easily design and cut patterns for your sewing projects.
Pattern design
The Brother ScanNCut SDX1250 plotter contains a very wide range of ready-made figures and shapes in its cache. Using the touch screen, you can edit them by changing their position or size.
If you do not want to use ready-made patterns, you can design your own in any vector program or Brother's free ScanNCutCanvas program. Users who do not have the need or find it difficult to use this type of programs can draw the selected pattern on a piece of paper, and the plotter, thanks to the built-in scanner, will recognize and cut the drawn shape.
The device is operated via the touch panel and the Canvas space program in English.
With the help of additional tools and accessories available in our offer (to be purchased separately), you can also perform gilding, sketch with markers, or cut out fabric elements using dedicated blades.
Gilding kit
With its help, you can create unique decorations on the surface of cards or invitations. The kit includes all the necessary elements for gilding and a set of 50 free patterns.
Cutting fabrics
A rotary blade is great for cutting out fabric and felt patterns. It will allow you to cut felt elements up to 3mm thick. A dedicated handle is required to use a rotary blade.
If you want to cut in thin fabrics without a backing up to 0.5mm thick, you can use a blade dedicated to thin fabrics, which offers high cutting precision in materials such as tissue paper or knitwear. A blade for thin fabrics should be used with a dedicated handle.
