Cricut plotter mats are extremely useful accessories that allow precise and stable support of materials during cutting and cutting. There are three main types of Cricut mats: StandardGrip, LightGrip and StrongGrip.

  • Standard Adhesive Strength Mat: This mat is ideal for most standard materials such as paper, cardboard, vinyl and foil. It has a medium-strength adhesive for easy matting placement and accurate cutting.
  • Light Adhesive Mat: LightGrip mats have a softer adhesive, making them suitable for thin and delicate materials such as delicate papers, tissue paper, fabrics or low-adhesive vinyl. With less grip, it is easy to remove the material without damaging it after cutting.
  • Strong Adhesive Mat: This mat has the highest adhesive strength and is designed for hard-to-hold materials such as thicker cardboard, plywood, leather or backed fabrics. Thanks to the strong adhesion, the material is held firmly on the mat during cutting.

To use a Cricut mat, you must first prepare the material, cut it to the right size and remove any creases. Then place the material on the appropriate mat, making sure it is evenly distributed and adheres well to the mat. Insert the mat into the Cricut plotter, then choose the appropriate cutting settings and start working. After cutting, gently remove the material from the mat, avoiding damage. Cricut mats can also be used many times, but their adhesion may decrease over time, so it is worth cleaning the mats regularly and using special sprays to regenerate the mat to extend their life.
