What does the CX24 and Cameo Pro MKII have in common?
What are the common features of both plotters?
They have a wide 61 cm cutting field, making them the favorites when it comes to cutting backing materials directly from the roll.
We can use them to cut out self-adhesive foils, stencil foils, and thermal flex and flock foils.
They can cut paper through and through on a plotter mat.
They can cut out prints.
They have a very wide range of applications in many industries.
Differences between plotters
Cutting precision
The first difference is the precision of cutting small elements, letters and shapes. The Silhouette Cameo Pro MKII plotter works well with larger shapes or lettering, while the Skycut CX24 plotter definitely copes better with cutting small details or fonts, minimizing any distortions that appear.
Software
- The Silhouette Cameo Pro MKII plotter comes with Polish-language Silhouette Studio software. It allows you to design patterns and inscriptions yourself. The basic version of the program is free. However, to open files: cdr, ai, svg, or send files for cutting directly from Corel Draw or Illustrator, you must purchase an extended version.

Accessories
In the Silhouette Cameo Pro MKII plotter we can use: an additional rotary blade for cutting fabrics, a universal marker holder, a gilding tool and an embossing tool. The manufacturer also announces a dedicated stand with a basket.
The Skycut CX24 plotter comes with a dedicated stand, foil basket and creasing tool.
Connection
The Cameo Pro MKII plotter connects to the computer wirelessly via Bluetooth, you can also use a USB cable (no USB cable included with the plotter, you can use a standard type B printer cable) The Skycut Cx24 plotter can also connect via USB cable or via WiFi after purchasing a WiFi module.
Service
Both plotters can be operated from a computer and the program we use. Additionally, we can send files to the Cameo Pro MKII plotter from an application on mobile devices or a program in the Silhouette Web browser version, while the Skycut CX24 plotter can also be operated on the device's touch screen by transferring a file to a pendrive.
Which plotter should I choose?
If you need a large cutting format (60cm) and plan to use it for hobby purposes: scrapbooking, crafts, cutting fabric, balloon stickers, iron-on transfers for T-shirts. Choose the Silhouette Cameo Pro MKII plotter.
If you want professional use, you plan to process a large number of orders, you care about high precision of the device, choose the Skycut CX24 plotter.
