Skycut CX24 vs Cameo 4 pro

The Cameo 4 pro plotter is an extremely popular model from Silhouette America, while the Skycut Cx24 plotter is rapidly gaining popularity in Poland. Why this is the case, which plotter to choose and how these two models differ - you will read in the following article.

What the CX24 and Cameo 4 pro have in common

What are the common features of both plotters?

  • They have a wide 61 cm cutting field, making them favorites when it comes to cutting liner materials directly from the roll.

  • We can cut self-adhesive films, stencil films or thermal flex and flock films on them.

  • They can cut paper right through to the plotter mat.

  • They can cut out prints.

  • They are very widely used in many industries.

Differences between plotters

CUTTING PRECISION
The first difference is the accuracy of cutting small parts, letters and shapes. The Silhouette Cameo 4 pro plotter does a better job with larger shapes or lettering, while the Skycut CX24 plotter is definitely better at cutting small details or fonts minimizing the distortion that occurs.

PROGRAM
The Silhouette Cameo 4 pro plotter comes with Silhouette Studio software in Polish. It allows you to design patterns and lettering on your own. The program in its basic version is free of charge. However, to open files: cdr. ai. svg. or send files for cutting directly from Corel Draw or Illustrator it is necessary to purchase an extended version.

Skycut CX24 plotter comes with SignCut (free for 1 year), has free plug-ins to send files from Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw.

ACCESSORIES
For the Silhouette Cameo 4 pro plotter, we can use: an additional rotary blade for cutting fabric, a gilding tool, and an engraving tool.

For the Skycut CX24 plotter, on the other hand, we can find a dedicated: stand, film basket, creasing tool and engraving tool.

CONNECT
The Cameo 4 pro plotter connects to a computer via a usb cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth.
The Skycut Cx24 plotter can also connect via usb cable or via Wifi.

OPERATION
We can operate both plotters from the computer and the graphics program we use. In addition, we can send files from applications on mobile devices to the Cameo 4 pro plotter, while the Skycut CX24 plotter can also be operated on the device's touch screen by transferring a file to a flash drive.

Which plotter to choose?

If you need a large cutting format (60cm) and plan to use it for hobby use: scrapbooking, crafts, fabric cutting, balloon stickers, T-shirt ironing.
Choose the Silhouette Cameo 4 pro.

If you care about professional use, plan to fulfill a large number of orders, and care about the high precision of the device, choose the Skycut CX24 plotter.
