Communion - scrapbooking. 4 interesting ideas!

The Holy Communion period in Poland is an extremely busy time of preparation for handicraftsmen. Handmade scrapbooking communion cards are the most popular form of gifts for loved ones. Are you looking for an idea of what else you can prepare for this occasion? We have some interesting suggestions for you!

Communion cards

There's certainly no shortage of ideas for communion cards, although recent years have seen a growing shift away from the trend of classic scrapbooking white cards with a cross or dove motif. This season, gold-colored mirrored paper definitely reigns supreme on communion cards.

Our customers are also making great use of the Foil Quil tool for gilding, adding a more attractive look to standard IHS or chalices.

Usually the biggest problem we have with cards for boys and men, if you are looking for an idea for a quick diy communion card, be sure to look at the Silhouette Design Store website - there you will find hundreds of ready-made patterns to cut out on the plotter.
The price of the pattern is usually $0.99 or about PLN 3.80, and once downloaded the pattern remains forever for our use, we can also edit, change or increase it.

Communion boxes - diy

Another growing trend are communion boxes, we can give them different shapes or sizes, they can fit small jewelry or money being the most popular form of gift.

You can design the box yourself in the free graphic program Silhouette Studio and cut it out of thicker paper of about 300 grams or again use the ready-made patterns and only add the appropriate additions in the form of scraps, pearls, cardboard or appropriate papers.

Communion albums - scrapbooking

Creating an album with your own hands is by far the most time-consuming task. Communion albums made using the scrapbooking method usually do not have decorated only the cover, but each of the pages. They are carefully covered with papers, you will find cut-out inscriptions, secret pockets for photos, frames and decorations. All this makes the gift special and unique.

You can buy a base for a handmade scrapbook ready-made at a stationery store, or make one yourself by cutting the individual pages into interesting shapes and binding or creasing at the edge.

Communion frames

You can also make commemorative communion photo frames yourself by cutting them out of stiff paper. This is certainly an original keepsake, and making the frame requires only a little patience (and good double-sided tape or magician's glue). If you have children they can help you decorate the cut-out base or cover it with scraps.

I hope that the ideas given will help you in your preparations for the busy communion period and prove to be an inspiration for even more interesting and creative works!
