Step-by-step: The forming process

Step 1: Preparing the machine Place the prepared HIPS sheet (with the protective film removed) onto the vacuum forming machine's platform and secure it in the clamp. Place the model or object you wish to replicate on the work platform.
Step 2: Heating and forming Start the sheet heating process. Once the plastic reaches the right level of pliability, lower it onto the model and activate the vacuum suction. The hot HIPS sheet will precisely conform to the model under the vacuum pressure, creating an exact replica.
Step 3: Cooling and removal After the suction process is complete, wait a moment for the formed part to cool and harden. Once the plastic is sufficiently cool, carefully remove the formed part and the model from the machine, then separate them.
Step 4: Finishing Your raw casting is ready for further processing. Use scissors or a hobby knife to trim away excess plastic edges. You can then paint and decorate the finished form however you like to give it a unique look.
